Intracytoplasmatic Sperm Injection: Introduction

ICSI, a special technique for oocyte insemination; is the injection of only one spermatozoa into the ovum cytoplasm. Since the introduction of this technique, severe male factor infertility can be effectively treated. Pregnancy rate with ICSI is about 70%. At the moment, thousands of live births were achieved with ICSI all over the world, being one of the most employed procedures in Assisted Reproduction.
